What are Integrated Shield Plans (IPs)?
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) are made up of two components.
The first component is the portion covered by MediShield Life, which offers cover for basic healthcare in Class B2/C wards of public hospitals. MediShield Life – as we have known from other sections on this website – is run by the CPF Board.
The second component is the portion run by private insurers. This component typically covers Class A/B1 wards in public hospitals or private hospitals.

What all this basically means is that an individual with an IP is already covered under MediShield Life.
